Ooooooh, very creepy book! Humbert Humbert's voice is achieved to perfection. Nabokov was a true genius (my favorite, though, is Pale Fire).
FWIW, I didn't find it a slow read at all -- I thought it was incredibly compelling (part of what creeped me out).
