Patience is a Virtue

...just not one of mine.

Since we knew we'd be gone for a good two weeks, we asked the post office to hold our mail. We got back lateish last night, and after futzing about online and putting dinner in the oven, I went to run a bath so I could soak for... well, until The Hunk demanded I get out!

No water. A dribble, and then: nothin'.

Checked the main: nothin'.

Turned the computer back on and went to our online banking site: oh look! Our check posted back on the ninth. Bill wasn't due 'til the 15th, IIRC. And yet we have no water. And the office won't be open until tomorrow morning.

Further description follows, possibly with somewhat-salty language. After being in the car for THREE DAYS, I was really looking forward to a long bath in my own house. We can't do dishes. We can't wash the enormous pile of dirty clothes from the trip. Oh, and let's not forget being able to flush a damn toilet!

I tried to think of a reason why our water would be off, but barring a very localized natural disaster, I'm coming up with nothing, and I'm absofuckinglutely livid. This is ridiculous.

Incompetent bastards... and I can't do a damn thing about it! Well, not today. Boy, does that boil my duck!

(You were warned.) At any rate, hopefully having gotten all that off my chest HERE will mean I can be a little bit calmer tomorrow.

Maybe.

Ugh! I'm SO sorry! What a rotten homecoming.

Try to be patient when you deal with the water people tomorrow. Remember that the person you talk to likely ISN'T the one who turned off your water...
