Counting Down

Two weeks from today I will - hopefully - have just returned from my first day of pre-planning.

I feel fairly well-prepared for the first week or so. After that, things are a bit up in the air. I don't much like it, but I need to find out when I can use the library for the (required) research project before I go and schedule the rest of my units. Plus I need to know how FRIGGIN SOON I get my computer projector.

I don't have things straight in my head, and that frustrates me. I've spent pots of time over the last couple of days updating my book list over at goodreads.com (as well as checking out WAY too many library books). I need to fold laundry and I'd like to play with some ideas for my journalism classes. Particularly the laundry, because the yard needs to be mowed and I feel unjust asking the Hunk to mow the lawn while I'm putzing about online.

I can't believe it's after 7 at night. I feel like I've just frittered away the entire day, and not on anything particularly enjoyable, even.

(Though I did get to read a good book and watch an episode each of Monk and Veronica Mars.

Frittering away time is a skill I have honed to perfection.

I enjoyed reading your book list. I recently finished the Dolley Madison biography and enjoyed it a great deal.

Ah, pre-planning. The reason why I want to punch people who say we get the whole summer "off."

I dunno - I'm looking forward to pre-planning. I'll finally get to sign up for library time! ;)

Plus I always feel a little weird whenever I find myself unexpectedly soapboxing on a teacher platform among non-teachers.

And I'm glad you liked the list! I think Dolley Madison is there because you gushed about it on your blog, actually. ;D
