I actually posted this over on the EC Ning, but then I figured, hey, why not include it here? Who knows, I may have some readers that don't frequent the ning.
So when I started pulling books from my classroom library to create themed sets, I noticed that I was having a difficult time finding ones I'd clearly categorize as "humor." I'd looove to hear some suggestions! Here are some of the ones I already have:
Every Man for Himself
Matilda
Nerd Girls
Skullduggery Pleasant
The Squire's Tale
Schooled
Wayside School Is Falling Down
Models Don't Each Chocolate Cookies
Suggestions have been
I Am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to Be Your Class President, Josh Lieb
Soul Enchildada, David Macinnis Gill
Swim the Fly, Don Calame
Born to Rock, Gordon Korman
Beauty Queens, Libba Bray
An Abundance of Katherines, John Green
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian, Sherman Alexie
Word Nerd, Susin Neilson
Will Grayson, Will Grayson, John Green
Going Bovine, Libba Bray
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, E. Lockhart
Other ideas?

Not sure what your school/community accepts, but...
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green is hysterical
Going Bovine by Libba Bray is also quite funny
The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart is also pretty funny.
Good Luck :)
Thanks!
I know these aren't grade level - and they LOOK really kiddish, but the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are great, and hilarious...
Also, Zen and the Art of Faking it was moderately funny...
A Confederacy of Dunces - for your advanced readers...
You've listed Matilda... I think you can put most any Roald Dahl book in that section...
I think I'll definitely have to pick up some of the Wimpy Kid books as they also scan pretty strong as 'boy' books.
I dunno about "any Roald Dahl." I mean, James and Charlie don't really strike me as humor. Strange? certainly. Perhaps even zany. But not on the whole "funny."
