Outrage! and Joy! and Grief! and Terror!

I always enjoy Threads from Henry's Web, but this morning I got to a particular post that I really agree with, especially since I often have little to say myself!

Sometimes I think we get bludgeoned into apathy because of all the horrific crap that goes on in the world. Thanks to the wonder of mass communication, we now know more about it than we ever have before. I often hope that this means that we're also trying to do more to help than ever before, but sometimes I wonder.

I think the converse is true, too; we aren't as joyous as we could be about everything there is that's wonderful in the world. Really, there's only so much emotion IN a body!
