So I picked up the box of novels I'll be using for my last unit. And what irked the heck out of me is that they're paperbacks, and they were just tossed in there any which way. No WONDER the books we got in 2007 are completely beat up. These were purchased in 2010 and there's no way they're going to last much beyond another year or two if teachers keep letting students treat them that way.
This is something that's particularly important to me, because reading is such a central part of our curriculum, and because money is SO tight right now.
